Arrival to Salzburg
Individual arrival in Salzburg and check-in at the hotel. Receipt of travel documents and rental bikes (if booked). The day is at your leisure to visit the beautiful old town of Salzburg.
Salzburg - Thalgau, approx. 23 km
Comfortable start of your bike tour on the Salzkammergut Cycle Path (R2) along the former Ischler Bahnstraße in the direction of Eugendorf to Thalgau, the gateway to the Salzkammergut. Depending on your mood, we recommend a trip from Thalgau to the nearby Fuschlsee (approx. 20 km there and back).
Thalgau - Mondsee - Wolfgangsee - Bad Ischl, approx. 43 km
From Thalgau you cycle through a forest to St. Lorenz am Mondsee, which is ideal for a first break. It continues over the Scharflingpass (short climb) to St. Gilgen to the famous Wolfgangsee. Treat yourself to a bathing break in the crystal clear water before you cycle on the lakeside cycle path via Strobl to the former imperial city of Bad Ischl. Explore the charming Upper Austrian town, the spa gardens and the imperial villa on a walk and treat yourself to a sweet snack in the well-known Zauner confectionery.
Bad Ischl - Wolfgangsee - Mondsee, approx. 38 km
Your bike tour today takes you back to Lake Wolfgang, where the idyllic town of St. Wolfgang, known from the operetta “The White Horse Inn”, is on the program today. Then you cross the lake by boat and reach St. Gilgen again. Back over the Scharfling, past the picturesque Krottensee again, you reach the Mondsee and cycle on the lake shore towards today's stage destination, the town of Mondsee. Relax with a swim in the crystal clear water or take a stroll along the beach promenade.
Mondsee - Irsee - Seekirchen am Wallersee, approx. 37 km
In Mondsee, not only the magnificent collegiate church is worth a visit, but also the open-air museum with the smoke house and the farmer's museum. The Salzkammergut Cycle Path takes you today to the Irrsee, a moor lake that is also ideal for swimming and on to Seekirchen am Wallersee.
Wallersee - Mattsee - Obertrumersee - Seeham, approx. 34 km
Mattsee and Obetrumersee are the names of the two bathing lakes that are part of the cycling program today. Via the small farming village of Schleedorf you will soon reach the Mattsee and when you go around it you will cycle partly over the German border. Today you move into accommodation in Seeham am Obertrumersee, whose clear, warm water entices you to swim and relax.
Seeham - Salzburg, approx. 34 km
On the Mozart Cycle Path, you first follow the lakeshore back to Salzburg via Oberndorf. The world-famous Christmas carol “Silent Night, Holy Night” was performed for the first time in Oberndorf in 1818 and the famous Silent Night Chapel can be visited. You cycle comfortably along the Salzach to your Salzburg hotel.
