On the Mürz Valley Cycle Path to Mürzsteg, approx. 40 km (there and back), easy,

In a westerly direction, a worthwhile bike excursion on the Mürz Valley Cycle Path (R5) leads into the valley to Mürzsteg. You cycle uphill almost always along the idyllic Mürz and soon dive into the Mürzer Oberland Nature Park. In Neuberg an der Mürz you should make a stop and visit the magnificent cathedral and its glass factory. The summer residence of the Austrian Federal President, the former imperial hunting lodge of Emperor Franz Joseph and his Sissi is located in Mürzsteg (unfortunately cannot be visited). There are many places to stop for a break along the route.

Pretul wind farm: over the Bärenkogel to the Roseggerhaus, 11,2 km, medium

For a change, don't you want to marvel at the wonderful landscape of the HOCHsteiermark from above? The Windpark Pretul Tour is a wonderful mountain bike tour that beginners can easily do with an e-mountain bike (available from Hotel Winkler / eBock bike rental instead of a city e-bike). The route leads from Mürzzuschlag over the Bärenkogel and the Ganzalm to the Pretul (accessible from May 15.5th to October 15.10th) and offers impressive views. The empty batteries can be recharged with regional delicacies in the Naturfreunde- or Roseggerhaus. The descent takes place via the same route or via other routes of the wind + bike park Pretul.
