Starting in Passau, you cycle via Obernzell and the Jochenstein power station to Engelhartszell, which is home to the only Trappist monastery in Austria that is worth seeing. Along the banks of the Danube, you continue to Wesenufer and over the famous and very impressive Schlögener Danube loop to Brandstatt / Eferding, a small medieval town.

After approx. 25 km you reach the Upper Austrian capital Linz, whose sights are definitely worth a longer stop. We continue on the left bank of the Danube through the Marchfeld and via the Abzüge power plant to Mauthausen, where the memorial of the former concentration camp can be visited. Cycling through the beautiful Strudengau you finally reach your destination Bad Kreuzen / Grein.

The Danube Cycle Path continues through the Tulln Basin and the Roman and flower town of Tulln to Greifenstein. Here you can return the rental bikes and take the S-Bahn to Vienna, OR continue cycling past Klosterneuburg to the center of Vienna. The Danube metropolis offers a wealth of sights, most of which can be reached on bike paths (e.g. St. Stephen's Cathedral, Ringstrasse, various museums, Belvedere Palace, Schönbrunn Palace, Prater, Danube Tower, etc.)

Individual extension in Vienna (highly recommended) or return transfer to Passau.
