The sporty bike tour from Passau to Vienna
The cycle tour from Passau to Vienna is considered to be the most beautiful on the entire Danube cycle path. Sporty cyclists and good e-bikers can cope with the approx. 317 km long, perfectly developed bike route in daily stages of approx. 80 km. Starting from the Bavarian border town of Passau, the bike tour leads over the famous Schlögener Danube loop to the Upper Austrian capital Linz. The world-famous wine-growing region and UNESCO World Heritage Site of Wachau will soon be reached through wonderful river landscapes and picturesque locations. At the end of the bike tour, the magnificent Danube metropolis of Vienna awaits.

Return by bus: Every Saturday from the hotel to the DT Infopoint / car park (at Passau approx. 13:30 p.m.).
Return by train: on the remaining days (SUN-FRI), every 2 hours, without changing, 2nd class, free choice of train (except Westbahn; no transfer to the train station).
Return transfer customer's own bikes: by bus at a surcharge of € 36 per bike without / € 79 per bike with transport insurance
Unguarded parking lot on the outskirts / close to the bike dispenser (fenced property) + € 40, - gross per stay - NOT RESERVABLE, subject to availability / payable on site

Individual arrival in Passau and check-in at the hotel. Individual tour of Passau's old town (e.g. St. Stephen's Cathedral, Dreiflüsseeck, Veste Oberhaus Castle). The three rivers boat tour is recommended - a comfortable city tour from the water
Passau - Brandstatt / Eferding, approx. 75 km
Starting in Passau, you cycle via Obernzell and the Jochenstein power station to Engelhartszell, which is home to the only Trappist monastery in Austria that is worth seeing. Along the banks of the Danube, you continue to Wesenufer and over the famous and very impressive Schlögener Danube loop to Brandstatt / Eferding, a small medieval town.
Eferding - Linz - Ardagger - Grein, approx. 85 km
After approx. 25 km you reach the Upper Austrian capital Linz, whose sights are definitely worth a longer stop. We continue on the left bank of the Danube through the Marchfeld and via the Abzüge power plant to Mauthausen, where the memorial of the former concentration camp can be visited. Cycling through the beautiful Strudengau you finally reach your destination Bad Kreuzen / Grein.
Grein - Wachau - Krems, approx. 85 km
Passing the “fabulous” Danube Island Wörth, you reach the Nibelungengau - a section of the Danube with a rich history. Via Ybbs-Persenbeug you cycle on to Melk, which is dominated by a magnificent Benedictine monastery. The Wachau UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the most beautiful river landscapes in the world, begins in Melk. Through the famous wine-growing towns of Spitz, Weißenkirchen and the fairytale-like Dürnstein you reach Krems, which impresses with its medieval old town.
Krems / Traismauer - Vienna, approx. 57-73 km
The Danube Cycle Path continues through the Tulln Basin and the Roman and flower town of Tulln to Greifenstein. Here you can return the rental bikes and take the S-Bahn to Vienna, OR continue cycling past Klosterneuburg to the center of Vienna. The Danube metropolis offers a wealth of sights, most of which can be reached on bike paths (e.g. St. Stephen's Cathedral, Ringstrasse, various museums, Belvedere Palace, Schönbrunn Palace, Prater, Danube Tower, etc.)
Individual extension in Vienna (highly recommended) or return transfer to Passau.
